 Will it fail mot?
Hi all. Is there anybody on here that knows about mot's? Reason is my brake light in my spoiler is not working. It is not the bulb. There seems to be know power getting to it. What I want to know is will it fail the mot on this. The other main brake lights work. Cheers Chris

 Re: Will it fail mot?
Some places it'll pass others it'll fail mate, the testers choice... bit of a grey area tbh, wording is if the light is there from the factory and seems like it should work, and it doesn't work, then it'll fail. However if it appears to be an added extra, ie by you, then it doesn't have to work... figure that one out Just get it wired in and working, will look better anyway

 Re: Will it fail mot?
From the legal standpoint, if you have a light fitted it must work.

 Re: Will it fail mot?
I really cant believe this. I found out from the owners club how to wire up the brake light in my spoiler from the other brake lights. So I thought I will do that coz I dont know where the wire is broken. I stripped out the back seats and the panels out the back of my car. Found the connector block where the wires are and low and behold it has never been wired up!!!!!! The bloody thing never ever worked coz it hasnt be wired from the factory. I was gob smacked. Its even in the manual. Bloody mitsubishi! Any way I thought whilst all the panels are off I might aswell wire it up so I know have a working spoiler brake light. Clever me
