Post Welding and exhust pipe bending!
Hi all,

Just thought i'd share my new adventures with you lol.......

Got myself a welder(picking it up tomorrow) to weld a cast iron manifold from our fiat coupe 20v turbo! Will be fun considering I havent welded since I was a kid lol. I'm sure with a bit of practice i'll be good at it :)

I was thinking of seeing if I can make some money out of welding - anyone got any projects or anything they need welding/fixing?

I was thinking of making up some exhaust pipes, but a mandrel bending machine is lots of ££££.

Anyone had any experience of hydraulic bending machines, like the Clarke 16 tone one? Would it distort the pipe too much to be used for exhausts? or can you get some kind of 3" spring to put in the pipe to stop it distorting??

Cheers,

Paul.

When i've had some practice to get back upto scratch then I may be able to sort you out mate :) I would need the car for a bit though to copy the existing exhaust.

Is there much call for exhausts on your suzuki? I mean would other people want them? I could make yours up and make a jig, just charge you for the materials and then make more as and when they were needed at the normal price for any one else....

There may be a market, as there is nothing off the shelf mods wise for the Wagon R, and i'm fairly certain there are a small number of owners wanting to improve the stunning  performance!
Plus its almost identical to the Vaux Agila.
Can't hurt to try and flog a few can it?

Well,

After some research, I have got a DC inverter TIG welder to do some professional jobs. I've tried and I can still weld! which is handy.

First thing I'll be making some de-cats for the trusty old Peugeot 306 HDI in mild steel to get some practice....then i'll move onto Supra/Aristo de-cats in stainless.

Has anyone got old catalytic converters off their cars that I could borrow to make a jig for various types of cars? I can go into mass production then!!!

Cheers,

Paul.

If you can get me an original downpipe to use as a template, then I should be able to mate :)
