Future of the forum and meets.
Hi Guys,
I've been thinking about the forum again as it's gone very quiet once more. What can we do to liven it up again? Seems daft that I'm paying for it out of my own pocket and it's not being used. Some ideas are:
Mini/sub meets at local performance centers and traders sites Start charging traders/other clubs to advertise on this site to cover costs Get some insurance companies to sponsor the site.
Afterall, we do get hundreds of hits per day, wether people post or not - it's good established advertising space. I think with some good SEO optimisation we could get things going again.
Cheers,
Paul.

i did put a post up a while ago about meeting up at the garden center i work at, then going for a drive out upto wales somewhere but nobody took me on. my boss asked me to ask around on the clubs im on and try make some sort of an event out of it. would be an ideal chance to advertise the club if quite a few ppl get together.

Re: Future of the forum and meets.
How many members do you have here Paul? Would they give a set fee per month? As you say, insurance companies wouls surely pay to ad on here. I think lots of other companies would too. Perhaps set up a directory of businesses if you get enough interest and charge them per hit they get.

Re: Future of the forum and meets.
how about doing some runs out, loads of routes available on the web and in our clubs directory. we could do a run sticker for every car showing the logo..
also how about applying to the classic car shows for a stand, we regularly go with the MX5OC or MX5Nutz but wouldn't mind a change.

Re: Future of the forum and meets.
I know this subject hasnt been touched for a bit but just a small idea. The biggest thing you have going for you at the moment is your monthly meet, no better place than to advertise yourselves. So the idea would be join as many jap forums as you can (which I imagine you are), owners sites and so on, have a quick chat to the mods to gain permission to advertise your meets then use the monthly meet threads as an advert with pics and so on. Its bound to gain some interest and a few more members too (having to post up details and reg no's) to help liven things up a little. If you need to make some funds for the club you could possibly think about charging a pound to enter the car park on meet nights, im sure nobody would begrudge paying that. Hope its helpful
