 Any ideas
Got my GTO back after the gearbox rebuild and everything seemed sweet as a nut with the box, but as i was leaving Doncaster got out the town and could get the car out of 2nd gear a problem occured. When i give the car more than 3000 revs in the higher gears it just stops reving and feels like it is sat on the limiter or like the engine is not getting the air supply it needs. When in 6th gear it will not rev above 3000 rpm!!!! it just sits at 3000 rpm and kangaroos.
I am phoning the garage back tomorrow first thing to see if they can shed any light on this problem seeing as the car apart from the dodgy synchro ring was fine when i put it in and would quite happily rev no problem in every gear.
Just wondering if anyone on here can suggest anything that it maybe.

 Re: Any ideas
No didnt take cambelt off or take the intake plenum off to access the spark plugs or anything like that as far as I am aware they only had to take the induction kit and associated intake pipework off to access the gearbox from the top of the engine then dropped it from the bottom of the car

 Re: Any ideas
Ok, that makes sense....
In that case, check all the pipework and connectors. Sounds like an air leak to me. Failing that they may have damaged the MAF/AFM when they took the intake pipework off...
My bets on an air leak though from not tightening something up..

 Re: Any ideas
Got my head under the bonnet checked all the induction pipework and turbo pipes all nice and tight and as I was looking at the rear turbo behind the inlet manifold I found the T-piece in the pic with one of the vacum hoses not connected, from what I can tell it is the vacum pipe from the turbo for the boost readings for the ECU and this not being connected would surely cause an issue, if im wrong please tell me. I have re-connected the pipe but unfortunatly have to go to work so aint got time to test drive the car so that will have to wait till tomorrow

 Re: Any ideas
Fitted a new uprated radiator to the GTO today and found that the intercooler pipe that runs parallel with the radiator hose across the front of the engine was not properly connected so that wouldnt have been helping my boost issue either.
The new radiator is fitted twice the size of the standard one and helps keep the temps very low even when giving it stick the car is holding boost nice and strong throughout the rev range in every gear and im loving having it back on the road after nearly 3 months, forgot how quick the bloody thing was LOL
Thanks again for the help
